Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds (JBCL) is affiliated to the Foundation for Preservation of Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) and our Spiritual Director is Lama Zopa Rinpoche. We provide a place for meditation, contemplation and the in-depth study of Tibetan Buddhism, specifically relating to the Gelugpa tradition.
We regularly host Geshe Tashi Tsering, the resident teacher at Jamyang Buddhist Centre in London and other highly respected teachers - both lay and ordained - from the FPMT network. Our weekly classes are taught mainly be Ven Mary Reavey, an ordained nun, who has been studying meditation and Buddhism for over 30 years. We also run various retreats for meditation and Buddhist study in and around Leeds.

JBCL is a Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. Our trustees are:
Steve Cragg, Brian Goodall, David Gray, David Midgley, Sian Thompson (Chair), Tom Sidebottom, Jay Simpson and Lorri Tolan.
We are all volunteers. Everyone involved in JBCL is a volunteer- we have no paid staff. We try to fit things in around our other commitments- jobs, family, friends, and meditation practice.
For more than 12 years many people have served and dedicated themselves in large and small ways to help JBCL flourish.
In particular we rejoice in the wonderful work of our three previous Directors:
David Midgley, Jan Metcalfe and Gabrielle Hamilton.

In no particular order, these are some of the people who currently volunteer their time and experience to JBCL:
· Ven Mary Reavey is our Spiritual Programme Co-ordinator (SPC). She teaches the weekly programme, councils and guides, and does outreach work in hospices, hospitals, prisons and schools.
· Wendy Ridley is our director and cleaner. She answers the phone & emails & keeps the website up to date. She helps organise the programme, meets and greets and is the Buddhist SACRE rep.

· Ilona Wheldale is our Volunteer Co-ordinator, leads meditations and is the Thursday Class Assistant.
